Mr.
Rasschaert is a senior executive with over 20 years
medical device experience in business development and
sales and marketing in the global market environment.
He is a serial entrepreneur with five medical device
start-up companies. Mr. Rasschaert’s first success
took place in 1996 when InStent was acquired
by Medtronic for $268 million. Mr. Rasschaert was
part of the initial team who started InStent (coronary
stents – Eden Prairie, MN)) in 1992. He was instrumental
in launching InStent worldwide operations. Later he
helped Cardima (electro-physiology catheters
– Fremont, CA) to launch its sales and marketing operations
and to go through a successful IPO in 1997. He was part
of the initial team that started Timm Medical Technologies
(urology products – Eden Prairie, MN) in 1998 and led
the sales and marketing department. Timm Medical
Technologies was successfully purchased by Endocare
in 2001. Mr. Rasschaert was also part of the team who
launched CardialCare (ventricular assist device
– St Louis Park, MN) and was an executive at Percardia
(percutaneous bypass – Merrimack, NH). Prior to these
positions, Mr. Rasschaert worked at the Medtronic European
Headquarters (Brussels, Belgium).
